Primrose Hill: The Art of Doing Less
A Croydon Girl's Love Letter to Slow Mornings, Perfect Bagels, and Finding Magic in the Everyday

I'm very fortunate that I get to head over to London quite frequently for work. As much as I love living in a sleepy Swedish seaside village, nothing beats the energy of the big smoke. I'm a Croydon girl at heart, after all. But here's the thing — when I do go, I feel compelled to cram everything in: meetings, shoots, cultural happenings, restaurant openings. The whole exhausting circus.
It's only recently I realised that actually doing less is more, and sometimes doing little or nothing is the truest form of luxury. Revolutionary thinking, I know. So that's exactly what I did on my last trip. In between shooting content, recording podcasts and the usual meeting marathon, I carved out one precious day to take it slower.
I was staying in a neighbourhood that wasn't unfamiliar to me. Years ago, I lived in Swiss Cottage, only a short walk from Primrose Hill, and at the end of grinding days in an office job, I'd often nip to the park for some green time with a book. There's something about returning to a place that once felt like home — it's like slipping into your favourite jumper.
Now, I'll skip my usual suggestion of going for a picnic because that goes without saying (I've realised that's become my go-to suggestion for everything). I'm an al fresco eating fanatic, what can I say?
But here's where things get interesting. This slower London day taught me something valuable about travel, about life, and about the art of truly savouring a place rather than just ticking boxes. And honestly? The secrets I discovered that day changed how I see London entirely.
